The Mirror Chair Project

Art as a thinking process

Editorial design of Agus Prats’ photographic project. Agus suffered from a serious neurological injury in 2001 which left him in a wheelchair. He adapted to a new way of taking photographs in the street, designing a system to support the camera on the chassis of his wheelchair which he could operate remotely. During his hospital stay, he wrote and photographed a personal diary but on losing the diary and in an attempt to find it, the author made the return journey to the place where he had sustained the injury, to the place of its origin, where everything started and, at the same time, changed. Here, he once again faced the same emotions as 14 years previously, but from the other side, as if in a mirror in which he sees himself reflected.
